Scope of works

The construction of all remaining underground materials handling infrastructure and other facilities required for the block cave mine at the Argyle Diamonds Underground Project.

Works include the construction of underground crushing, conveying and dewatering facilities, together with associated workshops, power supplies and flood dams, which commenced early 2011. These facilities require significant concrete foundation work to be constructed in excavations prepared by Argyle Mining development contractor.

Construction activities

Construction of the Underground Structural Concrete and Miscellaneous Works include:

  • Phase 1 which is the construction of Crusher 1, Tipples and the associated miscellaneous concrete. In addition it also includes of the majority of scratch back, blowover and blinding.
  • Phase 2 which is the balance of remaining structural concrete elements for the underground works within the Crusher 2 area and includes the remaining preparation scratch back, blow over and blinding concrete works.
