Killarnée Civil & Concrete Contractors are pleased to announce the award of Rio Tinto / Argyle's contract to construct the underground concrete and miscellaneous civil works at the Argyle Diamond Mine.
Located 150km South of Kununurra, the works include 30,000 m3 of concrete to complete the construction of all remaining underground materials handling infrastructure and other facilities required for the block cave mine which has been developed under the open-cut Argyle Diamonds Mine.
Separated into two distinct phases the works will take 18 months and are comprised of two crushers, tipples and the associated miscellaneous concrete. In addition it also includes the scratch back, blowover and blinding.
This project marks a significant milestone for Killarnée, therefore it is with great appreciation to Rio Tinto, Argyle Diamonds and Fluor for this opportunity that the Killarnée team rapidly mobilise in order to commence the works on site on the 4th of January 2012.
