All occupational injuries, diseases and incidents are preventable and as such all members of the Killarnée team are continuously and equally trained and hence responsible for maintaining a safe environment at work, to work and at home.

The continual improvement of the Health and Safety Management System is an integral part of the business and culture in supplying safe products, services and solutions.

Strategy
Killarnée Civil & Concrete Contractors will achieve these objectives by:

  • Maintaining a health and safety management system based on AS/NZS 4801-2001
  • Identifying, evaluating and managing all risks that may eventuate from the company’s work
  • Promoting a culture and behaviour amongst all personnel ‘that we are all responsible for our own health and safety, and that of our fellow workers’
  • Promoting fitness for work and safe work practices by all employees, managers and directors
  • Ensuring managers and supervisors at all levels are safety role models, responsible and accountable for safety
  • Continually improving internal systems and processes to minimise workplace risks and increase workplace safety
  • Ensuring open, transparent and effective communication between all personnel at all levels
  • Continuously measuring, reviewing and improving safety performance against the company’s targets which are aimed at eliminating all work related injury and illness
  • Complying with the relevant OHS legislation in conjunction with industry and client specific requirements

Implementation
Killarnée Civil & Concrete Contractors will maintain and improve the health and safety of the company by:

  • Establishing, reviewing and communicating health and safety measures and correcting deficiencies to optimise outcomes
  • Continuously reviewing and amending policies, procedures and processes
  • Engaging suitably qualified, skilled and experienced people and investing in training and professional development to continually improve the company’s capability
  • Investing in plant and equipment
  • Working with clients, contractors and suppliers to exceed their expectations

This policy applies to all Killarnée Civil & Concrete Contractors personnel, contractors and other personnel involved in activities pertaining to all Killarnée Civil & Concrete Contractors endeavours.

The Managing Director and General Manager are committed to ensuring Killarnée Civil & Concrete Contractors maintains a quality assurance system based on AS/NZS 4801-2001.
